BIOGRAPHY
After listening to Jeannette Bayardelle sing, you will wonder if you have just had a sneak peak into the world of angels. Her voice allows us to bridge the divide of the natural world and evokes a praise from within that threatens to drive us to our knees. After hearing just one song from this passionate woman, the only conclusion to draw is that her gift is certainly divine. And, thankfully, she has chosen to share her voice with the world.
Jeannette starred on Broadway in HAIR as Dionne and in The Color Purple as Celie. She also originated the role of Celie on the First National tour of The Color Purple where she received an NAACP award for best lead actress in a musical. Her extraordinary performances on stage led her to work on Disney's Princess and The Frog and Little Mermaid III (Ariels Beginning). She also wrote and starred in the new musical SHIDA, which is headed to Broadway. Other credits include: Rent, Big River, Sister Act, Best of Both Worlds, Elergies, and Zinzi.
Born in Bronx, New York, Jeannette began singing in church at a mere 5 years old. It was there that she began to develop her gift. Jeannette graduated from the acclaimed Fiorelle H. LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan where she was a vocal major. She continued her education at Hunter College and received a Bachelors of Science in Health Science. It was during her college years that she began to sing professionally. She made her Off-Broadway debut in the Musical, Another Chance, where she landed her first Leading Lady role. It was during this show that Jeannette realized there was a divine call on her life.
Although Jeannette loves musical theater, her passion is using her voice for the glory of God. Jeannette said, "This is my calling. God has blessed me with this gift and I want to use it to serve him and help bring people closer to him".
Her debut CD Praise Report has been described as a melting pot of a praise CD. Jeannettes Sophomore CD entitled Transferable is very contemporary and edgy. This CD deals with searching, finding, relationship and revelation. She wrote all the songs and produced all the music along with Craig Crawford and Daniel Weatherspoon. "There are many surprises on the CD including a duet with Michelle Williams of Destinys Child".
After escaping death due to a severe pulmonary embolism, it was clear to Jeannette that her assignment on this earth had not yet been completed. The song "Suddenly" from her new CD Transferable , was birthed out of that experience. "During my recovery, I felt like I didnt want to live any more, then suddenly, my perspective on living changed. I became excited about life again". She is dedicated to becoming who God has created her to be and reaching her destiny. "God kept me alive for a reason and I am not going to still be here, and do nothing. I must and I will fulfill my assignment".
